As with previous single ‘All Those Stars’, Will Varley’s new release ‘Seven Days’ was added to the Radio X X-Posure List. Both singles feature on the brand new album from Will, out now via Xtra Mile Recordings, entitled ‘Spriit Of Minnie’.

‘Thanks 4 Nothing’, the new single from Nilüfer Yanya, has been added to the Beats 1 Breaking: New Discoveries List this week.
Nilüfer has received extensive support across the network from the likes of Matt Wilkinson, Jehnny Beth, Julie Adenuga and Zane Lowe, having recently been in conversation with both Matt and Jehnny.

Will Varley was invited in to the Radio X studio to chat to John Kennedy about his new album ‘Spirit of Minnie’ and perform acoustic versions of various tracks from the new release.
John has been a fantastic supporter so far, having made his recent track ‘All Those Stars’ his Recommends track of the Day, and his strong support led to the track being added to the X-Posure Evening Playlist.

Gordon Raphael, the “mastermind” producer behind The Strokes’ debut album ‘Is This It?’, was in conversation with Chris Hawkins as part of BBC 6 Music Loves New York celebrations. Chris and Gordon spoke about the early 00s, Gordon’s discovery of The Strokes in a bar in New York, and the recording of the album in depth.
Chris also played Gordon’s new single ‘Seven Stars’.

Ian Parton from The Go! Team was in conversation with John Kennedy on Radio X
Ian Parton, band leader of The Go! Team, was invited in to the Radio X studio to chat to John Kennedy about the latest album, ‘SEMICIRCLE’, and to play some tracks that have influenced him in the lead up to the recording of the album.
John played a selection of tracks from the new album, including the most recent singles ‘Semicircle Song’ and ‘Mayday’, as well as ‘Chico’s Radical Decade’, ‘Chain Link Fence’ and ‘Getting Back Up’. Of the record, he said, “I really love this new record, it’s so good and in a way maybe it reminds me of that first album and that time, because there was something fresh and joyous about you then and you’ve managed to cling onto it, because that’s exactly what you’ve given us with the new record.”
