The Surfing Magazines, the supergroup made up of 2/3 of The Wave Pictures, 1/2 of Slow Club and Dominic Brider, were invited in to the Radio X session studios to perform some live tracks for John Kennedy. They performed ‘New Day’ and ‘Goose Feather Bed’, both of which feature on the debut album by the band, released earlier in the year via Moshi Moshi Records.
They also performed a cover of Jimmy Reeds’ ‘Baby, What You Want Me To Do?’ and Neil Young’s ‘Vampire Blues’, the second track will feature on tomorrow night’s show.
John spoke to Charles Watson ahead of the playback of the session tracks and they spoke about the collaboration with Dave and Franic from The Wave Pictures and what it was like to work with them, the covers that they’d chosen to perform, and generally discussed other projects Charles was involved in.
