Canadian indie-rock trio Basement Revolver are releasing their new single ‘Bread & Wine’, taken from their new ‘Agatha’ EP out now via fear of missing out records.
Formed in the honest grit of Hamilton, Ontario, Basement Revolver have seen a quick and notable ascent into the spotlight with their unique brand of 90’s infused indie-rock. Last years debut EP racked up nearly 1 million plays on Spotify and over 100,000 plays on SoundCloud. The two singles ‘Johnny’ and ‘Words’ reached the higher echelon of the Hype Machine chart, while the EP made various ‘best of 2016’ listings around the blogger community.
Their new single ‘Bread & Wine’ is another introspective yet irresistible ear-worm, bubbling with hope and optimism. Lead-singer Chrisy Hurn explains:
“This is my personal favourite on the EP – probably because it sum up the healing process that I went through after a really hard couple of years. I started to feel hope, safety, warmth, and love in my life again. I felt more comfortable with my beliefs, I felt more comfortable with my world. I felt more comfortable accepting myself, and the world around me. The words and melody came out as a folk song, but we adapted it more to our style, it was probably subconsciously influenced by Big Thief.”
Basement Revolver are Chrisy Hurn (Vocals/Guitar), Nimal Agalawatte (Bass/Synth) and Brandon Munro (Drums).
‘Agatha’ EP is out now on fear of missing out records, available digitally and on limited edition 10” vinyl.
